Sherbbles by Subdued Excitement (SubX)

SubX is one of our top shelf brands ($50 for 3.5grams) so when we got some grams in stock I immediately bought some to test them out. (Even with my Budtender discount, $50 is a lot if you’re not sure you’re going to like something).

The majority of SubX’s strains aren’t grown by our other vendors, so I can only try strains like Sherbbles20180518_003948 through SubX. With a name like Sherbbles, how could I not pick that strain first? It’s a combination of Fruity Pebbles and Sunset Sherbet, two very well known strains.

Opening the seal on the packaging, the aroma of the flower immediately filled the room. It smells like sweet and skunky candies. With such a potent aroma, I was eager to get the flower into my pipe. The nuggets were dense and a little sticky, but still easy to break up.

The flavor of the flower was like smoking lemon-lime soda. It has a wonderful flavor to it. It burned a bit in the back of my throat so I did end up coughing quite a bit, but I feel like the flavor and bud quality drastically outweighed the coughing.

I smoked the entire bowl because of how delicious it was. And then I watched a TV show, and another… and I did not feel stoned. My eyes were a bit dry so I took my contacts out and switched to my grandma glasses, but otherwise… it was as if I hadn’t smoked at all.

At that point, I then switched tactics and ate some edibles. Halfway through cleaning the kitchen the edibles kicked in and I had a nice, giggly evening.

I’m really hoping that this strain isn’t indicative of SubX’s general potency (or lack thereof). I generally don’t play the percentage game, because I’ve had other strains at the 17%THC range that still got me baked. However, I won’t be trying this strain again anytime soon. I will, however, give SubX another attempt because I don’t think it’s fair to judge a grower based off of one strain.

I guess I would recommend this strain to first time smokers who are looking for a flavorful but weak experience. However, that’s a tough sell at $50 a pop.
